Sunday Meditations

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but happy are they that keep the law.

–Proverbs 29:18

1. Keep your hand moving.
2. Don’t cross out.
3. Don’t worry about spelling, punctuation, grammar.
4. Lose control.
5. Don’t think. Don’t get logical.
6. Go with the energy.

–Adapted from Natalie Goldman, Writing Down the Bones

To choose a direction, we must first have developed a mental image of a possible and desirable future state of the organization. This image, which we call a vision, may be as vague as a dream or as precise as a goal or mission statement. The critical point is that a vision articulates a view of a realistic, credible, attractive future for the organization, a condition that is better in some important ways than what now exists.
