From Austin Area Interreligious Ministries:
Please mark your calendars for Austin’s 2010 CROP Hunger Walk – March 6 & 7, 2010. The CROP Hunger Walk brings together Austinites to raise money and awareness to relieve hunger and support refugees both internationally and in Austin. In 2009, we raised $132,000 with 2000 walkers!
AAIM is proud to sponsor the Austin CROP Hunger Walk. Of the money raised, 75% goes to international relief efforts provided by Church World Service while 25% stays in Austin supporting the Capital Area Food Bank, Catholic Charities of Central Texas, Refugee Services of Texas, Imani Community Church (AME) Fishes and Loaves Pantry, Dolores Catholic Church Food Pantry, St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Food Pantry and Shower Ministry, and Urban Roots.
Join us. Put together a team from your congregation/club/school or sign up as an individual. Send your team leader or come on your own to our Recruiter Information Orientation on January 16, 2010 at 9:45 AM at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center (corner of 13th and Lavaca, with parking availalbe in the lots across the street) to pick up materials.
