Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration on Sunday, Nov. 22nd (3:30 PM)

A letter from Tom Spencer, CEO of Austin Area Interreligious Ministries (AAIM)

[The 25th anniversary of the Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration will take place this Sunday, November 22nd at 3:30 PM. The event will take place at First Baptist Church (downtown at 901 Trinity St.) A reception will follow at 5:00 PM. ]

Parking is availalble on the street (free), at St. David’s Episcopal Church at 8th & Brazos ($2), and in the LAZ parking lots on 7th & Trinity and 9th & Red River ($2).

We ask you to join us as we celebrate the theme of COURAGE.

Courage, in the words of Winston Churchill, "is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen." In light of recent events, we are truly called upon to be courageous — to speak, to listen, to share our traditions, and to offer compassion and support.

We invite all of our participating communities to participate in the reception following the service, from 5 – 6:30 PM, by providing finger foods to share. Please contact Simone Talma Flowers (stalma@aaimaustin.org) if you’d like to help.

See you on November 22!

In peace,
Tom Spencer
