Monthly MFSA Meeting – 3/11 at St. John's (6:30 PM)

On Thursday, March 11, the Methodist Federation for Social Action (MFSA) will continue our poverty study by viewing the movie, A Powerful Noise. This movie takes you inside the lives of three women to witness their daily challenges and their significant victories over poverty and oppression. Their stories are personal, yet illustrate larger issues affecting millions of marginalized women worldwide. A Powerful Noise is a meditation on the inherent potential of women to change the world.

Why is this so important for women, and important that we focus on women? Women are 50% of the world’s population. However, women make up over 70% of the world’s poor, the world’s illiterate, the world’s most abused, the world’s most silent. It has been shown that when women have a greater voice in decision-making, that health needs, family needs, children’s needs, even financial needs are given higher priority. Please join MFSA for A Powerful Noise at Saint John’s on March 11 at 6:30pm for snacks and 7:00pm for the program.
