It is that time of year, but luckily there are 2 free events on April 17th to help get rid of all that “stuff” that you clean out of your closets and corners:
- The Association of Records and Information Management Professionals, the City of Austin Solid Waste Services, and Financial Fitness Greater Austin is sponsoring a free “shred day.” Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 17th from 8 AM – 1:30 PM at the Austin High School parking lot. Households can bring up to five boxes of paper records for shredding. Mobile shredding trucks will be on-site for to shred all materials. Please make sure your records are paper only (no hard plastics, no plastic bags, no electronic media, or 3-ring binders) and are dry. Questions? jannette.goodall@ci.austin.tx.us or 974-9045.
- The University of Texas Student Engineering Council (SEC) and Goodwill are hosting an electronics waste collection and recycling event this Saturday, April 17th from 9 AM – 3 PM in lot 39, LBJ Library parking lot (2334 Red River).
