The beautiful Interfaith Plates will not be coming to us from The Crossings for use in our Interfaith Chapel, as I indicated was a possibility at the Committee Conference on April 14th. Committee members were unanimously enthusiastic about the prospect of receiving such as gift from Joyce & Ken Beck, co-founders of The Crossings. Joyce is also Immediate Past President of AAIM ‘s Board of Directors and very she’s excited about our move and what we may offer via the Interfaith Chapel.

However, it was clear from the outset that as artist & benefactor, Donna Collins would ultimately decide who will receive the plates as The Crossings comes under new ownership soon. She has now indicated that they will go on tour of the U.S. this summer en route to Washington, DC where the White House will be their new home.

We may not have received them but it was an honor just to have been under consideration for them. It’s great to know that others are also excited about & inspired by what is to be our Interfaith Chapel and services, programs and activities that we’ll be planning. We’ll also be investigating the possibility of using photographic images of the 14 gilded ceramic plates, each about 14″ in diameter.
