Well Trinity family, we are proceeding a little more each day toward moving to the facility at 4001 Speedway.  It feels like rapid mode.  Following our vote in March to move much has happened toward the move.  Here are just a few highlights:

• An offer has been made on our current property on 50^th Street by a local private high school already located in the neighborhood but currently without a permanent home.  The negotiations for the sale is being handled by Trustees Committee of the Southwest Texas Conference of the UMC (we are connectional!) and I will let you know as soon as a contract is settled upon. At that time we will know when the closing date will be.  It is likely to be at the end of the summer or first of the fall.
• Our Transition Team has authorized Terry Enlow and Barger Constructions to get bids on the costs of renovations for the Speedway property and those bids are coming in.  Renovations will likely happen this summer and fall.  Even though the official sale of our current property is not likely for a few months, we will be the official residents of the Speedway property after Annual Conference on June 5^th. We hope to move all our operations to the new facilities by the fall even though some renovations will continue once we are there.
• We are in the midst of forming sub-teams of every sort for the transition and would like to have everyone at Trinity take part.  There is something for each person.  Please see the large bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall and place your name on a team of interest.  If you don’t see a team on the board that you think we need, create it.  If you need help getting your committee started, please talk to Amy on Sunday, or call/email her at the office (459-5835, mail@trinitychurchofaustin.org.)
• We have formed a capital campaign team that is hard at work developing materials to share with the whole Trinity community, as well as other interested parties such our neighbors, family members, AHB School, the Capital City Men’s Chorus, and volunteers associated with Hope Food Pantry.  Our financial goal is 100% participation of Trinity members. Fortunately, the Texas Methodist Foundation (TMF) is accustomed to helping with the lending for United Methodist churches and we have procured the services of TMF consultant, Dick Young. All this will allow us to move into a building prepared to house Hope Food Pantry, AHB, our vibrant children’s and youth program, adult classes, community activities, and provide a sanctuary that fits our culture.
