The world has come to Austin…
Experience it at World Refugee Day!
Please join us for an afternoon festival celebrating UN World Refugee Day. Come meet, learn more about and celebrate with some of Austin’s newest residents who have fled war, famine, and persecution to make a fresh new start in our community.
This year’s celebration will include children’s activities, a fashion show showcasing traditional attire, and music and dance performances from around the world.
The festivities will begin with the naturalization of 15-20 Austin area refugees who will become citizens in a special ceremony taking place in the Spirit Theater.
This family-oriented event is free and open to the public! Light refreshments will be provided.
For more information about the event see their flyer, or to volunteer please contact Lu Zeidan at 386-9145 or luz@aaimaustin.org.
