Austin's 2010 Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week

The Ending Community Homelessness Coalition (ECHO) and the Basic Needs Coalition of Central Texas (BNC) are co-hosting Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week: Listen. Learn. Lend a Hand, a week of events designed to educate the Austin community on the root causes of hunger and homelessness in Central Texas.  This week of events will be held Saturday, November 13 through Saturday, November 20, 2010.

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is the largest annual event that connects policy makers, local business leaders, service providers, faith-based organizations, and community members to engage in implementing active solutions and prevention methods for hunger and homelessness.  Featured events include the Homeless Resource Fair on Saturday, November 13th, the Sunrise Homeless Memorial Service on Sunday, November 14th on Town Lake, and a special screening of The Soloist on Wednesday, November 17th at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar location.  A full schedule of events with complete details can be found at www.hhweekaustin.com, along with a PDF.
