On May 7th & 8th we are looking forward to hosting Jimmy Creech and his wife Chris Weedy. Jimmy is the author of Adam’s Gift: A Memoir of a Pastor’s Calling to Defy The Church’s Persecution of Lesbians and Gays.  Mr. Creech served as a United Methodist pastor in Nebraska until 1999. After two church trials for performing the marriage of two gay couples, the first in 1998 in which he was acquitted and the final in 1999, he was stripped of his UMC ordination credentials.Currently Jimmy Creech travels the country, preaching in churches and speaking on college and university campuses, as well as to various community and national organizations about human and civil rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Mr. Creech has also served as the chair-person  of the Board of Directors of Soulforce Inc., as well as the Executive Director of Faith In America, Inc.
There will be many opportunities during the weekend to hear from Jimmy and purchase his new book, “Adam’s Gift.” We have not solidified the schedule as of now but are currently looking for volunteers to help out with the events of the weekend.
