Volunteers and staff members with North Central Caregivers are busy right now collecting gift items for our May Baskets. For those of you who may be new members to Caregivers, the May Baskets are gift bags decorated by the Sunday School children at our Supporting congregations, and filled with many gifts and goodies for distribution to all of our Care Recipients.
We still need many small, hotel-size shampoos, cream rinses, and lotions. We also need note pads and pens, single-serve beverages (such as lemonade or cool aid), single-serve, microwave soup or noodles, and any other nice and useful items you can think of. If you don’t have time to purchase items for the May Baskets, we will happily take cash donations and go and purchase the items for you.
May Baskets are a long, and loved, tradition at North Central Caregivers. Our Care Recipients look forward to receiving their May Baskets each year, and our volunteers really enjoy delivering the May Baskets to each client. It gives volunteers a chance to say hello and to find out if there is anything additional that people need from us or other community agencies.
With 280 May Baskets to assemble and deliver we have a big job, and really appreciate any help the community can provide us. Just call the office at 453-2273, or drop by any morning before 12 noon, Monday through Friday. If you want to help distribute May Baskets, let us know, and thanks.
