2011 Homeless Memorial Sunrise Service – Nov. 13

From Richard Troxell, President of House the Homeless –
To all the good folks @ the Trinity United Methodist Church.  You are invited to join us in an act of humanity.  On behalf of House the Homeless Inc. I would like to invite you to attend this year’s House the Homeless Memorial Sunrise Service on Sunday, November 13th.
For the 19th  year, we will meet at the Homeless Memorial, plaque, bench and tree of remembrance on Lady Bird Lake.  In a one hour sunrise service, we will  pay our respects to the women, men and children who have died while living on the streets of Austin during the previous year. There will be song, prayers, tributes and morning refreshments.
The location is on Lady Bird Lake on Auditorium Shores at South First and Riverside St.  The Memorial is located just west of the Fannie Davis Gazebo and 75 yards east of the Stevie Ray Vaughn statute.  It should be a moving service rain or shine. This year, sunrise will be at 6:57am. There is plenty of parking on the northwest corner and spill over parking at Run Tex on the south east corner of South First and Riverside Streets.
Speakers in the past have included: County Commissioner Sam Biscoe, Kirk Watson, many mayors and City Council members.
We hope you can join us.
Thanks and good luck.
Richard
