9/11 Interfaith Memorial Service – Wildfire Donation – Sept 11

9-11 Memorial

Dear Friends,

Recognizing the devastating nature of the on-going fire emergency in Central Texas, Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT) will be donating 100% of the funds raised at our Interfaith Memorial Service commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11 to fire relief efforts.

The theme for our Memorial Service, A Brotherhood and Sisterhood of Strangers, was inspired by the bravery of the first responders on 9/11 who risked their lives to save people who were strangers to them. Today we see the very same thing happening across Central Texas.

The funds raised during a special offering at our service will be donated to the local Red Cross in support of their efforts to assist Central Texas families.

iACT’s Interfaith Memorial Service featuring Austin Mayor, Lee Leffingwell, Catholic Bishop Joe Vasquez, and other religious leaders from the Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Hindu faiths will take place at 4:00 PM on Sunday the 11th, at First Baptist Church, 901 Trinity Street. (Parking will be available in the First Baptist Church garage at 811 Trinity and on surrounding streets.)

The Interfaith Memorial Service will be carried live by YNN Austin. iACT’s partners in the production of the service include: Catholic Diocese of Austin, Central Texas Muslimaat, Congregation Beth Israel, the Institute of Interfaith Dialogue, Muslims for Peace and Unity, and various other local faith communities.

Please plan on arriving early for this very powerful demonstration of local unity and solemn remembrance.

Sincerely,

Tom Spencer
C.E.O.
