Saint John’s UMC will be the site of the spring meeting of the National Board of Directors of the Methodist Federation for Social Action (MFSA) on January 27 and 28.  Approximately 20 board members and MFSA staff from 11 states and the District of Columbia, will meet to determine the organization’s course through General Conference 2012 and beyond.  SWTX MFSA Chapter members from 4 Austin churches will be teaming up to house, transport, and feed the visitors. The meetings are open; if you would like to meet board members, the Executive Director, or staff, come by the Fellowship Hall and sit in on the meetings.  Rowland Curry, the South Central Jurisdictional rep for MFSA, is coordinating the event, with the help of Anne Mund (lodging) and Martha Renfroe (food).  Former Saint John’s member and National MFSA Co-President, Tara Thronson, will be leading the meetings.  Jill Warren, Executive Director, and other board members will be visiting Saint John’s on Sunday, January 29.  Thanks to everyone for your hospitality.  8 am to 5 pm.
