Dear Friends,

Front Steps thanks you for your kind and generous gift [of $297.]  Because of the generosity from supporters like you, Front Steps is able to fulfill our mission of helping those who are homeless find a pathway home.  With an ever-growing need for more affordable housing in Central Texas, gifts like yours help us move more people into safe, secure, and stable housing every month.

In the month of April, as part of Front Steps’ Permanent Supportive Housing Program, we helped fifteen men and women move into their very own apartments.  For many, this was the first time they have been housed in several years.  Because these chronically homeless individuals suffer from mental illness and co-occurring addictions, we provide intensive case management, volunteer mentors, and other forms of support to help these men and women not only succeed in their new hosing, but ultimately become self-sufficient.

With the generous support from donors and volunteers, we have been able to furnish each new resident with most of the comforts of home.  We have many more people in this program to move into housing, but with the help from supporters like you, we know we will be able to provide the resources and services that these folks need to maintain their housing.  Thank you for being a part of the solution!

As we near the hottest part of the year, Front Steps will again partner with the I Am Waters Foundation to provide visitors to the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless with bottles of water, and bottle filling stations.  If this summer is anything like last, we will distribute more that 60,000 bottles of water before summer’s end.  We are grateful that no one will have to go without water during the extreme Austin heat over the next few months.
