1:58 PM, Thursday 8/30/12: I am very sad to report that Joyce died a few minutes ago. The neurologist came in about an hour ago to report that the brain scan this morning determined that she had no brain activity. With that news, her family chose to end her suffering and remove her from life support. After an autopsy is performed to try to figure out just what caused this, her body will be sent back to her hometown of Silsbee in East Texas where there will be a funeral at the local funeral home. I know that those of us who loved her here in Austin will want to have a local service also, so we will have some sort of memorial service at Trinity very soon. When I know more, I will pass it along. Thank you all for your prayers.
