The Wednesday night class studying the book The Friends We Keep: Unleashing Christianity’s Compassion for Animals, will be privileged to have a visit from the author, Dr. Laura Hobgood-Oster. Laura is a professor of religion and environmental studies at Southwestern University in Georgetown, and will visit our class on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m.
Her book covers topics of animals as companions, animals in sports and entertainment, animals as food, and animals as beings with whom we share the earth. Dr. Hobgood-Oster will answer questions and discuss with us her ideas for how we can help with the plight of our animal friends.
We’d like to invite all animal lovers and other interested persons to attend this session, regardless of whether or not you’re enrolled in the class.
