From Hope Food Pantry Austin:

Dear Congregants of Trinity UMC:

On behalf of the Hope Food Pantry Austin Advisory Board, thank you for your donations totaling $3,978.20 in the year 2012.

Thanks to generous contributions like yours, Hope Food Pantry Austin (Hope):

1. increased the number of families served from 80 to 90 per week by end of year and served 240 turkeys to families this Thanksgiving season.
2. continued guaranteeing each family with staple items of meat, tuna, rice, beans, pasta, tomato sauce, and canned fruit and vegetables.  In addition, families received fresh produce, and 5-7 items of their choice.
3. distributed food to 11,911 individuals, of those 4,042 were children.

As a partner with Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB), your monetary donation is hard at work at Hope.  For every $1 can of food purchased at the grocery store, Hope can purchase about eight cans of food at CAFB.  However, we cannot rely solely on CAFB.  In order for Hope clients to receive all guaranteed items, Hope must purchase food at the local grocery stores to fill the gap in our pantry.
