The TUMC women’s group will meet next Sunday, October 20th, for a potluck lunch (English tea?) and discussion in the community hall after church, about 11:45. Alison Bartley and Paulette Delahoussaye will lead a discussion about the writings of Jane Austen. We will provide her biographical background, and discuss the character traits of her heroines, with a group activity. Some other questions we may address are: Class distinctions (then and now), the importance of money (then and now), and, was Jane Austen a romantic? We hope you will share your thoughts about Jane Austen—likes and dislikes! Feel free to bring one of her books, or a related book, to lend if you wish.
