“In the end, though, maybe we must all give up trying to pay back the people in this world who sustain our lives.
In the end, maybe it’s wiser to surrender before the miraculous scope of human generosity
and to just keep saying thank you, forever and sincerely, for as long as we have voices.”
~ Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia
Today I want to focus on all the amazing staff here at Trinity. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated, talented people!
I am grateful for the wonderful staff working with our children and youth! Elise and her cheerful, smiling face playing with all the tiny ones each week. Shari for bringing a playful order to the bubbly chaos of our preschoolers. Peter, who infuses his calm and gentle energy into all he does with the elementary-aged kiddos each week. And lastly, our newest addition, Jean-Paul, who is hanging out with our middle school and high school youth and working to build a close-knit group.
I am thankful for the folks who bring us such beautiful music on Sundays: Tim, Cy, our Celebration Choir, and Trinity’s Earth Band. I feel so lucky to be able to leave each worship celebration feeling renewed and healed by the sounds that filled the Sanctuary.
I am so appreciative of all the people who work so hard on our building. Jes and Larry, who are there making sure that our church is clean and welcoming to the Trinity and Austin community. Esteban and Karimah are busy making sure our kitchen and Community Hall are setup and cleaned up for First Sunday potlucks, and Devon is keeping it all under control after Wednesday dinners.
And of course, Laura is in the background making it all running smoothly, no matter what needs to be done. I can never thank Laura enough!
Last, but certainly not least, I am so grateful to know and work with Sid, who has “unpacked” Christianity and allowed me to see past the dogma to the meaning. I believe that I am a better person from knowing him, one more at peace with myself and the world around me. His visionary leadership over the past 25 years has helped create this amazing community that now feels like home.
Thank you to you all for all that you do! ~Amy
