How do you ask someone for a very special gift? That is a question I have been struggling with for a time. I guess that is why I have been avoiding sending this email for many many months, but . now it is the time to ask. I am sending this email to see if anyone is interested or knows someone else that may be interested in donating a kidney to me. As some of you may know, my kidney’s started failing in November 2012 as a result of the genetic disease I was born with, Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). I was put on the deceased donor kidney transplant list in February 2013. Since there is currently a 4-6 year wait for a deceased donor kidney on the Central Texas Kidney Transplant List, I am hoping to get a living donor kidney transplant which means I would need someone, who would like to donate a kidney to me, to go through the testing process and then the surgery.
