Join the Coalition of Austin Community Gardens, Sustainable Food Center, and the City of Austin Office of the Mayor for Building Strong Teams: Four Kinds of Leadership, a workshop facilitated by Andrew Willis Garcés! If you are a member of a community gardener or any other neighborhood volunteer-run project, this workshop is for you.
Most of us have been trained to think that there’s only one way to “lead” in a group. Much as there are different styles of gardening, we all also naturally gravitate towards one of four kinds of leadership, particularly in volunteer-powered projects. In this interactive workshop you’ll learn how to draw from the assets each style brings to the table to grow into a stronger team. You’ll get the opportunity to practice using this leadership style “lens” in collaboration with other Austinites creating community change in their neighborhoods.
