With school almost out, we will soon see a lot of children coming to Hope Food Pantry with their families. I would love for us to be able to give books out to the kids through the summer.
The Recycled Reads Bookstore, part of our public library, sells all of its children’s books for 50 cents each- and they have English and Spanish. They are located at 5335 Burnet, and are open Thursday-Sunday. If you can, stop in and pick some up. AND, you will be right across the street from The Dollar Tree where you can buy dishwashing soap, trash bags, shampoo,etc for our clients- for a dollar. These are items they really need and they’re not available thru the pantry- unless we buy them.
