Transition Team: Interviews Complete

Dear Trinity members and friends,

We are delighted to say that second round interviews are now complete for the interim lead minister position at Trinity. We will soon know who will guide our congregation between Sid Hall’s retirement and the identification of a permanent settled pastor.

We’ve been greatly enjoying interviewing some extremely thoughtful and qualified candidates. In the UCC, most pastors who are available for transition ministry are near retirement age, so these candidates bring decades of experience — sometimes from multiple career paths — to this sensitive role.

The interim period will be an in-between time of grieving and visioning, integration and action. Our interim minister will guide us to:

Discover

– What is the life-giving core of Trinity?
– What core values cannot be compromised?

Dream

– Where do we want to go?
– In what ways do we want to grow?
– Who do we want to keep becoming?

Design

– Review our organization
– Prepare resources for the course ahead
– Develop a Strategic Plan

Deliver

– Empower a Pastoral Search Team

We look forward to celebrating Sid’s loving service to Trinity on his last Sunday with us, June 13. We will miss him terribly, and we know you will too! But we also know that we are going to be okay. We will be letting you know about opportunities to appreciate Sid and say goodbye to him during the coming weeks.

Trinity remains strong and connected despite a pandemic and all the challenges to gathering that it has brought. Our interim lead minister will be with us starting July 1, and we can’t wait to introduce them to you! Please continue to hold Sid, Trinity, and our future interim minister in your prayers as we make this transition together.

Warmly,

Your Transition Team
Jessica Dugan, Brandon Wollerson, Rolando Perez,
Jolene Carlson, and Christine Major
